We have some good news today..................the bank accepted our offer and we accepted the banks offer AND closing date. This has been quite around about for a few months. Our closing date will be May 10th, maybe sooner if the bank can get their paperwork done. We have seen God's hand in this in so many ways. I wanted to share our story, so you can rejoice in God's love and peace with us.
Many of you know that we put an offer on a house on December 8th, 2009, that was in Short Sale (similar to a foreclosure) and thought we would close soon after. Fast forward to the beginning of March 2010, and we got a counter offer from the bank. We accepted their price, but changed the date from April 23rd to March 26th. They came back last Thursday with a date of April 30th. (one week later than there original closing date) We had already locked into a good interest rate that ends on April 9th, so we changed the price back, and put a closing date of April 9th down. We got an accepted offer of a great price, and close date of May 10th. We took it!! It is in our price range as the other one was a little higher than we wanted. We also thought if we didn't close before April 30th we wouldn't get our tax deduction. We don't have to close by June 30th, so we will get the tax deduction also!!
Now for our Realtors story...............We chose to use the Seller's realtor as we didn't get one of our own. Her name is Theresa. We were a little disappointed in the beginning with her lack of contact with the bank and with us. After writing her a letter and talking to her about our concerns, she went above and beyond for us. We didn't know about the two deaths in her family, traveling for the funerals, 13 yr. old grandson being paralyzed, health issues, and staying with her single daughter and grandson every night overnight to help them. She had and still does have a lot of struggles and fears. At one of our meetings at our house, I felt we needed to pray. After Patrick was done praying, she broke down and told us everything that was going on with her and how much she has worked on our house offer. The next time we met to see our accepted offer, she broke down again and asked both of us to share our Testimony's. She and I talked about growing up Catholic and that she doesn't attend Church anymore. We prayed together again in her office. On our third visit together last Thursday, Patrick made a quick decision to change the offer price back. Something Patrick doesn't do without praying about first, and we talked about God's Will, with Theresa.

Patrick called me today (March 25th) to say we got the house and that today was also Theresa's Birthday. I suggested we send her flowers. He said she has a story to tell you and wants you to call her. I got off the phone with Theresa and just praised God for what he is doing for us and what he is doing in her life. All to His Glory!! People talk about God's timing and that we won't see why until the end. Both Patrick and I and Theresa see why. God is doing something in Theresa's heart and we are thankful He is using us.
The story that Theresa wanted to share with me was that she got the most wonderful Birthday present (on her BIRTHDAY!!) Answered prayer and Peace that surpasses all!!! She wasn't feeling well on Tuesday and went to bed very early, before falling asleep she talked to God about her life, her grandson, and us. The offer came in this morning while she was in a very difficult meeting at work.
She is so sweet and tells us she loves us and that we are "Family"!!
Thanks so much for all your prayers for our family and for our Realtor, they were heard and in God's timing, he answered them perfectly!!
